Waking Up Early… Just to Not Study

I wake up early. I set my alarm with the best intentions, thinking, "This is it. Tomorrow, I’m going to be productive." And then… I do everything except study.

The Art of Avoiding Studying

I wake up at 4 AM, ready to conquer my books, but instead, my brain decides:

  • "Maybe I should scroll through my phone for just a few minutes." (Two hours later…)

  • "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! I should make something fancy."

  • "I can’t study in a messy room. Let me clean up a little first."

And before I know it, it's time for a ‘quick nap’ that turns into an accidental sleep marathon.

My Brain’s Morning Logic

Somehow, my early morning brain convinces me that anything is more urgent than studying. Suddenly, I need to organize my closet, learn a new recipe, or question my entire life’s purpose. But opening my books? Nope.

The Pressure of Waking Up Early

There’s something about waking up early that makes me feel like I have so much time. Too much time. My brain tricks me into thinking I can take things slow, but then—BAM!—it’s 10 AM, and I’ve done nothing except exist dramatically.

How I (Try to) Fix It

  • Trick myself: I set a fake deadline and pretend my exam is tomorrow to create some panic motivation.

  • Remove distractions: No phone, no snacks, no random life reflections—just books and me.

  • Start small: I tell myself to study for just 5 minutes, and sometimes, that turns into an hour.

Final Advice: Just Start!

Waking up early is great, but only if I actually use that time. So, if you're like me and keep finding ways to avoid studying, let's make a deal: no overthinking, no excuses—just start. Even if it’s just one page. Because honestly, that’s better than nothing!
